Emerald Rice

November 12, 2016 in 4th Trimester Bodies

The radiant Emerald Rice, Kaine (6.5), Karsyn (5), and Kylan (3). Emerald also lost a pregnancy to miscarraige one year ago.

Emerald and her husband are high school sweethearts and he always knew he wanted a large family. They conceived Kaine during her Junior year of college and is grateful that all of her pregnancies and births were without complication. Emerald and her twin sister made a pact to breastfeed their children after their little brother was born when they were 7. Nursing Kaine was difficult and she ended up pumping for a year due to a poor latch but she found things easier with Karsyn and Kylan.

Emerald has struggled with her weight after her last child was born. "It seemed like the weight melted away after my first two children, but I've had to work much harder to feel confident after my 3rd. Over the years, I have learned (slowly but surely) to embrace every stretch mark, extra pound or excess skin because I see that it was all worth it. I have always had issues with trying to control things that go on around me and to me, and motherhood has shown me that no matter how much I attempt to control things, life will still happen no matter what! I am in the process of embracing this phase in my life and I am the happiest I've ever been!"

"My children are healthy and thriving, and they need a confident mama to motivate and empower them! I want other mothers to see a mother that looks like me. No airbrushing, perfectly coifed hair or glamorous clothes...I am a mama that has lactated for nearly 7 years straight and that has excess skin from carrying the loves of my life. I wouldn't trade this experience for anything in the world."
