The beautiful Brie Jepson and Olivia (6.5 months). Brie's pregnancy was very unexpected but very easy. Things went well and in the last trimester she learned Olivia was breech. She was days away from having an external version to turn her when she went into labor at 36 weeks. She had to deliver via emergency cesarean as her local hospital wasn't prepared for a vaginal attempt. It was just two hours from the time her water broke until Olivia was born but the delivery process went well for them both and Brie says she didn't care how she arrived as long as she was healthy. Her recovery went well as has breastfeeding. Her mother was a lactation consultant so she knew she had good support. Her milk didn't come in until day 5 and Olivia had a hard time latching and feeding in hospital but she had a follow up home and felt more confident taking her time. She dealt with oversupply and Olivia has a soy sensitivity (Brie is vegan) but they've sorted it out and are going strong.
Brie says that previously she was on a diet every day of her life. She has struggled with her weight whether at 100 lbs or at her heaviest right now but doesn't want to pass those concerns onto her daughter. She wants Olivia to know that she is beautiful inside and out, just as she is, whatever that looks like. Brie injured herself trying to get the weight off just after Olivia was born and is just now feeling capable of being active again. She wants women, including herself to give themselves a break and know that we can and should embrace ourselves after creating a beautiful new life.
