The amazing Ami Woodyard with her son Eli (5), daughter Evangeline (1.5). She is also pregnant with another baby due in October and has had three losses Michael who would be 5, Lilly who would be 3 and Seth who would be 6 months. Ami's first pregnancy was lost and she found out she was pregnant with Eli shortly after her D&C. She developed preeclampsia and was told by her MFM at 20 weeks that she needed to abort her son because if he survived he would be a burden on society and have developmental delays if he even made it to viability. She let him know that wasn't an option and asked him for a time frame. He told her 25 weeks would give him a 50% chance and that's exactly when Eli decided to come. He was born via cesarean, spent 4 months in NICU and is doing very well today. Ami was able to pump for Eli for 12 months and received an award from his NICU for making it so long. Ami lost another baby, Lilly between Eli and Evangeline. Her pregnancy with Evangeline was amazing. She said things went so well that if everyone could have that experience they'd be pregnant all the time. She had hoped to have a VBAC with Evangeline but ended up delivering via cesarean again which she felt good about. She breastfed directly and pumped this time and enjoyed being able to nurse as well as share the responsibility of feeding her daughter. Ami lost her third baby, Seth, six months ago and is currently pregnant again. Things are going very well so far and while her doctor would like for her to consider a scheduled cesarean she is entertaining attempting a VBA2C as she's always wanted a calm and peaceful delivery experience but knows she has plenty of time to consider and ultimately choose what feels best for her at the time.
