Erin Mauro

July 13, 2014 in 4th Trimester Bodies

The amazing Erin Mauro with her daughter Tatum Ann (2 years, 9 months) and her son Frank Danger (7 months). Erin had very difficult hyperemesis gravidarum with both of her pregnancies. She was able to conceive Tatum very quickly and while her pregnancy was difficult, Tatum was born on her due date without complication. Erin tried to get pregnant again for the next year and finally went to the doctor to see if anything was wrong. She ended up getting pregnant the next month and just before her 1st doctors appointment woke up in the middle of the night on a Saturday, spotting. She called her OB in the middle of the night and she said there wasn't much she could until Monday but told her to get an ultrasound before coming in. The ultrasound tech was very quiet and eventually called in the doctor who said there was nothing in her uterus, they couldn't find a baby. It was determined that she had an ectopic pregnancy and she was scheduled for surgery the next day. The doctor tried to save her fallopian tube but wasn't able to and the same time determined that her other fallopian tube was not functional. Her doctor told her that the only way they would be able to conceive was IVF so they collected eggs and started the next month. Frank conceived quickly and was born just a week before his due date. She was so mellow on the way to the hospital that her husband didn't believe that she was in labor and he was born without any complications.
