The stunning Juliette Stewart and her daughter Violette (8 months). Juliette and her husband were together for quite some time before they decided they did want to have children. They were able to conceive very quickly and Juliette had a healthy pregnancy. She chose to deliver with hospital based midwives and while things ultimately turned out very well she had some very scary moments along the way. She was a bit early and her midwife had prepped her that if Violette didn't cry right away they would have to take her and the NICU team was huddled in the corner waiting for her to arrive. Juliette was able to deliver vaginally and she studied her midwives faces as Violette emerged, her baby cried and she saw the shock in her midwives face and was incredibly relieved. Her baby was able to come to her chest and Juliette initiated nursing without complication. She has been able to stay home with her baby and won't go back to work until next month which she says has been a great gift and allowed them to establish a wonderful breastfeeding relationship.
Juliette says that prior to becoming a mother she was that woman who thought she would schedule a cesarean birth and formula feed and has been amazed to see the shift in choices she's made with motherhood actually before her. While pregnant she found she very much enjoyed looking at pictures of herself as a child but even more so seeing her mother with her at that point of their lives. She's one who doesn't particularly enjoy being in front of the camera but wants to change that for her daughter. She's trying to stay in the picture more and wanted to participate in this movement in part so that she can show Violette some day what they were a part of together.
