The lovely Lindsey Frutiger with her daughter Ella Victoria ("EV" 7 months).
Lindsey became pregnant for the first time 12 years ago after being attacked by her boyfriend. She chose to have an abortion but was afraid to tell her parents so she went to what she describes as a "back alley doctor". The procedure was unsuccessful and one month later she had to had to have it done again. She developed severe endometriosis as a result and was told that she may have difficulty conceiving in the future. She developed high anxiety and PTSD as a result of her attack and experiences and went through a lot before she felt comfortable trying to get pregnant again. Thankfully she was able to conceive EV without any issue and went on to have a generally healthy pregnancy. She developed preeclampsia and needed to be induced but things progressed well and she had an uncomplicated vaginal delivery. Lindsey was determined to breastfeed but says that she didn't have many friends who had stuck it out so she sought the support of a couple local organizations to help her through the tougher times. She was able to stay home with EV for 4 months before she had to return to work so she was able to establish a great supply and build up a freezer stash. They are still enjoying a wonderful nursing relationship today. Lindsey was a last minute participant after a friend and 4th Trimester Alum encouraged her to join us. She wasn't certain if she would share her entire experience but ultimately felt that it was important to do so to encourage others to find the same hope and healing that she has.
