The amazing Armani Barker with her son Maverick (2) and daughter Isla (2.5 months). Armani struggled with disordered eating growing up and had a lot of body related issues because of it. Even just 3 years ago, she wouldn't have been seen in a bathing suit unless she was under 100 lbs. In 2011, Armani's mother died leaving her devastated. She conceived her son the following year and was able to feel a shift in healing that was so needed after her mother's loss; becoming a mother herself was allowing that to happen. Her pregnancy went very well and she chose to deliver in a birthing center. Maverick nursed until he self weaned about 4 months into her pregnancy with Isla. Armani chose not to find out if she was having a son or daughter with her second pregnancy and says she was outwardly scared of having a girl. Isla's arrival at home, however, has provided the last piece of healing and closure she says she didn't know she needed. Forming a relationship with her own child that her mother had with her has made her family feel complete in a way she didn't know it ever would again.
