The amazing Janelle Dahlgren with her daughters Anya (5), Ilsa (1.5) and Inga (3 months). Janelle has had quite a journey. She is a cancer survivor and had a lap band surgery in 2007. None of her pregnancies were easy and she suffered two miscarraiges between her daughters. At 30 weeks pregnant with Anya, Janelle went into preterm labor and was put on bedrest for the her pregnancy. Her water broke at home and her labor was only 12 hours with a successful vaginal delivery. With Ilsa's pregnancy, Janelle started bleeding around 18 weeks and thought she would lose her daughter. She was able to carry to term but Isla got stuck during delivery and had to be delivered via cesarean. Isla was healthy but Janelle's recovery was incredibly difficult. She required a blood transfusion, had to be treated for an infection and 5 weeks later had to have her gall bladder removed and undergo a hemorrhoid surgery. At 24 weeks pregnant with Inga, Janelle was dealing with severe itching. Her OB thought she had PUPPS but she knew that wasn't it and switched providers who diagnosed her with cholestasis. Her experience with her doctor was difficult and she had a lot of anxiety with the situation. He was fired at 34 weeks and she found a new provider. Inga was born at 37 weeks via cesarean and was very healthy. Janelle chose to have a tubal ligation following Inga's birth. She's been able to successfully breastfeed all of her girls.
