The amazing Alison Haasch. Alison is mother to Daniel (21) Rachel (18) Jonathan, who would be 15, Jacob (13), Caleb (11), Zachary (8), and Brooke (3). Alison has had healthy pregnancies with all of her children. Her first was born in hospital late preterm and had to spend time in hospital. She was discourage from breastfeeding so they could determine what he could take from a bottle and was inevitably unable to nurse. This experience paved the way for Alison to know she wanted to do things differently in the future. She has since become a practicing midwife and has given birth to most of her babies at home. Alison carried her son Jonathan term without any complication. Her midwife came in for a check and documented heart tones when there weren't any. She gave birth to her son just days later, unaware that he had already passed away. Jonathan had Trisomy 18 which had gone undetected by Alison's providers. Alison says that Jonathan's birth was an amazingly transformative experience. Alison chose to participate because, as a mother, midwife, woman she feels it's important that the normal variations in beauty can be recorded and seen.
