The amazing Carrie Hatanaka with her son Travis (3) and daughter Taylor (1). Carrie says that she always wanted to be a mom and it's the greatest thing she's ever done, but also hardest thing she's ever done. She conceived Travis without complication and had a very healthy pregnancy. Labor was good as well but she had to push for an hour and a half before they had to use vaccuum assistance. Her second pregnancy was a bit more difficult, she was sick through out and had to be induced. Her labor was easy though, peaceful and she was able to push her out in three pushes. Carrie says Travis is her lover and Taylor is her wild child. Carrie had hoped to breastfeed and took a class while pregnant with Travis. The instructor told her if she didn't breastfeed she wouldn't bond with her baby. She tried but her milk didn't come in and she didn't know what to do so she started formula. She pumped and nursed for about 6 months before she let herself off the hook because it was too emotional and difficult. She tried again with Taylor but again found she was too stressed out about it and had to let it go. Carrie said that she got out of the shower one day and Travis told her "Mommy, your stomach is pruney!" She loved his innocent perspective on her belly and really wanted to really begin to embrace her body.
