The amazing Kristy Harrington with her youngest of five Zayer (3 months) and Zephyn (4). Kristy is also mom to Shelby (21), Mackensie (19) and Zenaveve (12) as well as her 7 year old niece they have been fostering for the past 4 years. Kristy had her first two daughters when she was very young. She had a traumatic birth experience with her first resulting in an emergency cesarean, she had to be put under general anesthesia and was unable to see her daughter's birth. She tried for a VBAC with Mackensie but ended up a repeat cesarean and ended up scheduling cesareans for her next two. Zayer arrived a few weeks early and was delivered via cesarean birth as well. Kristy found most of her birth experiences traumatic due in part to the way she was treated by staff and has had some postpartum anxiety with her last. She has successfully breastfed all 5 of her children for at least the first 12 months and hopes to go at least 2 years with Zayer if he's willing. Kristy talked about parenting through multiple decades, how recommendations and philosophies change so much over the years. She and her husband added it all up and by time Zayer reaches adulthood they will have been in the active stages of parenting for over 30 years!
