The amazing Jessica Hobbs with her boys Kyuss (5), Hudson (3) and Atticus (7.5 months). Jessica's pregnancies were all fantastic. Jessica went with the private health system for her first pregnancy, and when she reached her due date, her provider got mad at her that she hadn't already booked an induction and gave her a rant about how her placenta would start to deteriorate, and she was unsafe. He couldn't get her in for another week anyway. She went into labor on her own a few days before, but she had to have an emergency cesarean where the doctor mounted the bed and had to scoop his arm in and use suction to get Kyuss out because he wasn't breathing. When all was said and done, thankfully he was just fine. She really wanted to have a VBAC for her second birth, so she chose to go with the public health system and was successful. She had a miscarriage between Hudson and Atticus. She had a more difficult labor with her third as she didn't have any pain medication for the first time and found that things hurt a lot more than she'd thought they did. Jessica says that all of her labors have ended with babies heart rates dropping or stopping near the end and a mad dash to get babies out, but they've all been born healthy. Jessica noted that every pregnancy, labor and breastfeeding relationship has been very different, and she hopes all women can recognize that, embrace one another and support with all we've got.
