“Adjusting as an individual after growing two humans inside of you is a surreal experience. I have never felt more connected to two little people that I just met. My mom always said once she had me, she couldn't remember not having me. I relate to that for the most part, but I do still miss the freedom of grabbing my keys and running out the door to Target without a thought. I'm sure most moms reading this can relate. I wouldn't trade it for the world but it has given me more appreciation for supporting parents. All of my expectations have been blown out of the water watching these two little girls develop and grow. Since the birth of my first, I have become a bit obsessive in supporting and helping my fellow moms during their pregnancy. I feel like I have found my drive and purpose an will be pursuing my certification to be a postpartum doula.
I was extremely self conscious following the birth of my first. I exclusively nursed and expected the 65 pounds I gained to just melt away. They didn't. But following the birth of my second, the weight has come off a lot easier, but I'm working harder to be a positive role model for my girls. I have a newfound appreciation for every stretch mark and have never felt more body confident.”
