The gorgeous Gaëlle Hermans and her son Aymeric (26 months). Gaëlle had what she describes as a perfect pregnancy but says that she truly became a mother when things didn't go as planned with her labor and delivery and Aymeric was born via unplanned cesarean. Gaëlle was determined even more to breastfeed after his birth and wasn't willing to give up when they had difficulty. She pumped and fed him with syringes and finger tubes for about 4 weeks until he got a bit bigger and a friend gave her nipple shields to try. The shields helped immensely and they were able to nurse directly with them for some time and then successfully wean off of them.
Gaëlle hopes that others can realize that perfection doesn't have to only be when things go perfectly all the time, it can instead be those random perfect moments cut out and glued together in your mind with all of the moments in between that are difficult and messy and real.
