The radiant Paige Roark, mother to Emma (5), Ronny (3 - not pictured) and Matthew (1). Paige says that she feels lucky to have three very healthy pregnancies, births and breastfeeding experiences. She conceived her daughter when she was just 18 and newly dating her now husband. There was a lot of pressure from their families to get married but as they are both children of divorce they knew they wanted to put their parental roles first and if things worked out and they wanted to get married down the road, then they would. At about 5.5 months pregnant, just after their anatomy scan and gender determination, Paige received a call that Emma only had a one vessel cord and was presented with the option to terminate her pregnancy due to potential risks. She knew that this wasn't an option having come this far and thankfully her daughter remained healthy. Emma was born in hospital with epidural with no complication and came into the world surrounded with no less than 10 families members who already adored her.
Paige and her husband got married when Emma was one and soon after discussed whether or not to have another child. Her husband had just joined the Air Force and they decided that it wasn't the right time, only to discover soon after that she was pregnant. They considered terminating the pregnancy for about 5 minutes before Paige says that she looked and Emma and realized she already loved this one baby so much- it could only build with another. This pregnancy progressed without issue as well and her labor and delivery were uncomplicated, though her husband was not able to take leave and had to watch his son's birth via Skype.
Once again they questioned whether or not to add to their family and decided that the timing wasn't right only to find out she was pregnant with Matthew. Her pregnancy with Matthew was also uncomplicated and this time she delivered very swiftly without any medication or intervention. She says that it was an absolutely amazing experience, so much so, that she almost wishes she could go back and do it without epidural for all of her babies.
