The amazing Amanda Katzer, Rhyatt (3) and Aurora (9 months).
Amanda is a previous participant from our Miami tour stop, you can view her session and original story here.
Amanda was 14 weeks pregnant when we last worked with her and she went on to have a healthy pregnancy with Aurora. At 31 weeks, however, she began to have intense contractions that needed medication to stop. She continued to contract irregularly every few minutes, every day for the remainder of her pregnancy.
Amanda gave birth to first daughter, Rhyatt via cesarean due to her frank breech position and had hoped to attempt a vaginal delivery with Aurora. She found herself trying everything to get labor going and finally realized that she it wasn't the story of how her girls got her that was important but what came on the other side. Amanda delivered via repeat cesarean on Mother's Day and has had a wonderful breastfeeding relationship.
Amanda wasn't sure she wanted to have children until she conceived Rhyatt and still continued to struggle to grasp what she would do to with her life to give back to the world. She's decided that mothering and raising strong women is her purpose and is dedicated to giving her girls solid footing. She and her husband are also finalizing steps to become foster parent. They are looking forward to opening their home to babies and toddlers in their community in need of homes.
Amanda has had quite a journey with her body and now, at the heaviest she's ever been, she's learning to love herself more than ever before. "We're all as unique as our thumb prints and it's so important for us to learn that we don't all have to fit into society's mold".
