The amazing Amanda Van Wyk with her boys Xander (2.5 years) and Declan (3 months). Amanda had a relatively healthy pregnancy with Xander. She had hoped to have a vaginal delivery but was unable to as he was breech and unable to turn. She was able to breastfeed Xander until she was 6 months pregnant with Declan. She had hoped to VBAC with her second pregnancy but had full placenta previa. She experienced some bleeding around 36 weeks and was in the hospital for a week before a cesarean delivery. She had a lot of bleeding during the birth and quite a traumatic experience. Declan had to spend a bit over a day in the NICU but was able to recover quickly. Amanda has been struggling quite a bit with postpartum depression but has seen some improvement with therapy and medication.
