The lovely Martina Clements, Ellie (2.5) and Jack (9 months).
Martina and her husband never wanted to have children and she was looking forward to cultivating her career. She thought that if she ever did conceive she would have the baby cut out of her, give them a bottle and head back to work. Ultimately, she and her husband began discussing the possibility and she very quickly conceived Ellie. And once she was actually pregnant, a friend suggested she look into having her baby at home. Martina thought at first there was absolutely no way, but after realizing he husband was on board, found a midwife she loved and was able to stay with her for both of her pregnancies and births.
Both of her pregnancies were very healthy and her babies were born in the water. Ellie arrived sunny side up with her eyes wide open and made immediate eye contact with her dad who was catching her before her shoulders even came out. Her labor had been long but went smoothly. Jack arrived quite quickly and so much easier than her first. Breastfeeding has gone well with both babies. Jack has a lip tie that caused some pain initially but she's learned how to flip his lip out and things have improved immensely.
Martina has always struggled with her body but doesn't want to pass that along to her children. She never wants them to hear her talk negatively about her body and she never wants them to feel less worthy because of how they look.
