Jessica Johnson

November 04, 2014 in 4th Trimester Bodies

The amazing Jessica Johnson with her daughter Lily (2) and son Colin (1). Nakia was a medical student prior to becoming a mother and thinks that she might finish up her studies some day but has happily shifted gears to care for her children. Both of her pregnancies were without complication as well as her births. She was able to breastfeed Lily for 2 months without issue and then had to switch to formula. Her normal cycle resumed but she was having some odd bleeding about 5 months postpartum and went to the doctor. He ordered an ultrasound and she learned she was actually 7.5 weeks pregnant. Her second pregnancy was much different since she was also caring for her infant daughter but all went well. She was determined to breastfeed for longer this time and was able to make it until her sons first birthday. Just a few months ago Nakia and her family lost everything to a house fire. They were home but thankfully unharmed. While loosing the tangible memories of her children's first moments has been a difficult reality, Jessica has beautifully been able to look at the experience as a cleansing start over.
