The lovely Lauren Blanford and her daughter Fiona Jane (14 months). Lauren had a miscarraige before conceiving Fiona which made for an anxious pregnancy. She dealt with morning sickness for about the first 17 weeks and then had a great second trimester. Lauren is a nanny and found that caring for and traveling with her charges put some extra strain on her ability to keep up with her pregnancy physically. Near the end of her pregnancy she was ready to have Fiona. She went into labor a week early and thought she had labored at home for a long time but go to the hospital at only 2cms. They decided to admit her and her daughter was born after 24 hours with no complications. Lauren was able to nurse Fiona until she self weaned at 14 months. The first few weeks were challenging with a lot of pain but she had a lot of support and encouragement from her mother, mother in law and finally a confidence boost from a lactation consultant that allowed her to stick with it. Lauren says that motherhood has been a great challenge but the most rewarding challenge of her life.
