The amazing Marybeth Hernandez with her son Sau'l Lyndell (8 weeks). Marybeth was in very dark place before she got pregnant but her baby changed everything for her and she says she's never been happier. She had a very healthy pregnancy and never even had nausea or heart burn. When she was 5 months pregnant her partner and sons father was hit by a car and severely injured leaving him unable to walk. It was understandably difficult for their entire family. Marybeth made it to term and her labor was a party with loved ones present. Things went really well but progressed in starts and stops over about 18 hours. She stalled out at 9.5 cms for several hours and there was some cause for concern that she was swollen and her sons head was becoming very swollen from being stuck. The need to possibly perform a cesarean was mentioned but Marybeth was able to get him out. They took Sau'l away as soon as he was born and didn't fully communicate with Marybeth what was going on which was scary for her as she'd planned to delay everything and hold him immediately after birth. Thankfully, both Sau'l and Marybeth were fine. Breastfeeding has been a bit challenging and she isn't certain how long she'll keep nursing but she's been able to wean off using a shield most of the time while nursing and introduce a bottle without issue.
