The Baugh, Ulreich, Keivel Family

April 01, 2015 in 4th Trimester Bodies

The amazing Mary Lou Baugh (80) with her daughter Tammy Ulreich (54), granddaughter Jennifer Keivel (33) and great-grandson, Owen (2). Mary Lou is the mother to three - Tammy (54), Patty (50) and Bobby (48). She has 3 granddaughters and 4 great-grandchildren. Mary Lou had healthy pregnancies and births with all of her children. She enjoyed motherhood but says that being a grandmother, and now a great mother has allowed her to enjoy motherhood even more. She is very active and enjoys doing things with her grands and great grands, and then enjoys sending them home.

Tammy is mother to Jennifer (33) and Kelly (29). She had healthy pregnancies with each of her girls and was looking forward to a natural birth with her first. She had to be induced 2.5 weeks post dates and ultimately had to deliver via cesarean with a vertical incision. It was not at all what she expected but she was able to nurse Jennifer until 14 months. She was determined to have a different experience with her younger daughter and was able to have the vaginal delivery she desired which she says was wonderful. She breastfed Kelly as well, and she weaned at 10 months. Tammy says that she waited a very long time to become a grandmother and now that Owen is here he's the light of her life.

Jennifer and her husband waited 9 years before deciding to have a child. They didn't think they wanted children but once they changed their minds things went very well. Jennifer had a very healthy, easy pregnancy and an uncomplicated delivery. She was able to nurse Owen for 16 months though she faced some challenges and had to seek the help of a lactation consultant. She says that motherhood has been an amazing journey. There are still moments she misses her old life or wonders whether or not she's doing things right but Owen is the world to her.

This wonderful family joined us together to celebrate themselves and their generations together.
