The stunning Jessica Scott with her mother Donna Begonis and sons Dylan (3) and Hendrix (2). Jessica had a difficult time conceiving Dylan, it took about a year and she met a lot of women along her journey who really touched her and made her want let people know it isn't always easy. Once she was pregnant things went very well and she felt wonderful. She thought she looked amazing and wanted to do it a million times. She had preeclampsia and went on modified bed rest at 34 weeks. At 37 weeks her doctor started pushing induction. She talked her way out of it for a couple weeks but after reaching her due date, gaining 9lbs in a week and her blood pressure sky rocketing, her doctor wouldn't wait any longer. She was induced and though nervous, it wasn't like she'd imagined. Dylan was born in 4.5 hours from first contraction through birth. She had an epidural to cope with pain but wanted to do it again right away. Because it took some time to conceive her first they started trying again rather quickly. She was able to breastfeed Dylan for 1 year and 11 days and it turns out just days after she weaned him she ovulated and conceived Hendrix. Her second pregnancy was not as comfortable as her first, she gained a lot of weight quickly and was very different. A week before her due date she was laid off her job. She had very much wanted to go into labor naturally this time but her insurance was about to be cancelled and she had to have her baby first so she was induced again and completely devastated. She had another fast labor only 3.5 hours this time and was able to hold her son right away this time. She initiated breastfeeding right away and is currently in the process of weaning.
Donna is mother to Benjamin (36), Jeffery (35), Jessica (32) and has 6 grandchildren ranging in age from 2-16 (5 boys and one girl). She absolutely loves being a mother and loved being pregnant. She had her first pregnancy at 16, had a great pregnancy, an induction and her son was born in 2 hours. She got pregnant again when her first was 6 months old and had an even easier delivery with her second. She didn't know anything about water breaking but felt a gush, called her mother and she told her what was happening. She rushed to the hospital and her sons head was out before she got there. As he was delivered the doctor had his glasses half on his face, one glove on and her son just popped out at him. She wanted a little girl and waited a while. She had moved away from home and conceived her daughter. Simultaneously her dad became very ill with lung cancer. She moved home to be with him but he passed away before Jessica was born. Donna wanted to have her at home and saw a midwife but didn't have the support of her family. The midwife allowed her to have her in a bedroom like nursing room in the hospital and she was able to deliver her in an hour and a half. Donna says the best reward of being a mom is being a grandmother because they are an extension of her children and make her life that much better.
