Sisters Amberly Boerschinger with her youngest of three, Thomas (1) and Alida Yee with her daugher Elizabeth (21 months).
Amberly is also mom to John Ross (5) and Clara (4). Amberly had to be induced post dates with both her first and last, but had healthy pregnancies and vaginal deliveries with all three. She had hoped to breastfeed with all of her children but was never able to succeed from tap so she pumped for 6 months with each of them. Her pregnancy with Thomas was a surprise and even though she and her husband decided to let God determine the children they would have, she had felt she was done and had a difficult time accepting it for the first couple of weeks. She credits her faith as her motivation for participating in this project.
Alida and her husband struggled with infertility for almost three years and had decided not to use any artificial means to get pregnant. A friend of theirs heard of a mom who was looking for a family to place her daughter once born and connected her with Alida and her husband. They met with the birth mother within days and a week later had their baby girl. Elizabeth was born via cesarean and Alida was able to be in recovery with the birth mother and was the first person to hold her daughter.
