The wonderful Andi Stein with her daughter Cassidy Luna (14 months). Andi is a young, single mother who strongly believes in natural childbirth, breastfeeding and parenting. She was feeling off and went to the doctor who told her she likely had an ulcer. It wasn't until she had an ultrasound several weeks later that she discovered she was pregnant and 15 weeks along. Andi called an agency that day and planned to place her daughter for open adoption and found a family she was comfortable with. Even though she was sick most days, she had a healthy pregnancy. At 32 weeks, Andi decided she wanted to keep her baby and called off the adoption. She went into labor just a few days later and ultimately delivered her daughter via emergency cesarean at 33 weeks. Luna had to spend 14 days in the NICU and is very healthy today. Andi worked very hard to get her to latch and breastfeed, pumping for weeks, using a nipple shield for several months and finally her daughter was able to latch and nurse without issue. Andi has had the wonderful support of her family to help and encourage her with her daughter while she works and finishes school. While her body looks very similar to how it was before her pregnancy, Andi felt it was important to participate in the project to represent the teen and young mom community that she's found herself a part of.
