The amazing Jacklyn Hoglund, Eleanor "Ellie" (8); Tessa and Drew (almost 5) and Olivia "Livvy" (7.5 months). Jacklyn also had two early miscarraiges between her first and second pregnancies.
After getting married and settling into their jobs and house, Jacklyn and her husband decided it was a good time to have a baby. Like many things, they learned it wasn't going to be as easy as they thought it may be. After nearly a year of trying and beginning to explore fertility specialists they learned they were pregnant. Pregnancy was uneventful and Jacklyn carried to 41 weeks. She was induced but did not progress and was encouraged to deliver via cesarean. Eleanor arrived at a healthy 9lbs and 9oz and nursed for a year without much trouble.
Jacklyn chose to wean at 1 year so they could start trying for a second baby and was surprised to find she was pregnant again just 3 months after weaning. Sadly, she lost the pregnancy to early miscarriage. After the miscarriage, they found themselves pregnant quickly but miscarried again. They were devastated.
After several more months of trying they decided to see a fertility specialist. 2 IUI's and one round of IVF later they were delighted to find out they were pregnant with twins. Jacklyn is an identical twin herself, so was asked often if twins run in their family but hers are fraternal as the result of her double embryo transfer. After 38 uneventful weeks, aside from gestational diabetes, they welcomed Tessa Lillian and Drew Morris at 6lbs, 5oz and 6lbs, 10oz. via scheduled cesarean.
Jacklyn and her husband felt that their family was complete and were shocked to find out that they expecting again. After struggling for so long, this pregnancy occurred when they really trying not to get pregnant. It was difficult at first, but Jacklyn says that when she stepped back and thought about it, she truly felt like it must have been meant to be. 39 weeks later, after a more difficult cesarean than the others, Olivia Maxine joined their family at 8lbs 8oz and has truly completed their family.
"To think all these women (myself included) are mothers to these beautiful children. We don't put ourselves in front of the camera enough and appreciate all that our bodies do to grow and nurture these babies into people. I think it's especially important to show my own 3 daughters and my son the bodies are beautiful in every shape and size! My body is certainly different than it was before pregnancies but I'm learning to be ok with that."
