"Since becoming a yoga teacher over 10 years ago I am very lucky to love my body. I loved being pregnant and I was amazed at what my body went through while pregnant and how well it adjusted in such a short amount of time.
I hope others know it's okay to miss your old life. People will leave you after you become a parent. It's hard but take as much time to revel in the love between you and your child because it is indescribable and there is peace there.
Finding joy in motherhood is about being true to you. The more you listen to your heart and instincts the happier you become as a mother and by extension your child is happier. With all the judgement, anxiety, and self doubt that comes with being a mother - especially a first time mother - it can be challenging to find a quiet space, both literally and metaphorically. If you can find the time and space to tune into your authentic self these challenges hold less power over you.
What better way to express this journey and your true self than by standing and owning your body; wrinkles, wiggles, and love handles included. Motherhood has taught me more about who I am than anything else I've done so here I am - my mom bod and my son, my greatest guru."
