“I was the girl in high school who vowed to not have children. Man plan's and God laughs I guess. I remember when I became pregnant for the first time while away at college. After finding out the reason for the vomiting, dizzy spells, and other annoying pregnancy symptoms I was experiencing was due to a 8 week old fetus growing in my inexperienced womb after leaving my first doctors appointment, I nervously accepted that my plan of #teamnokids was fading.
Once I came to terms with the fact that I was carrying life within me, my enthusiasm was washed away when I spontaneously miscarried a few days after. I never knew how much I wanted to be a mother until I saw the red rinse away in the shower. That wasn't the last time that I had to mourn what could've been a special spirited being growing in my wombniverse, however, I never let it stop me or scare me from motherhood. It only showed me the preciousness of the wombman I am.
I look to my body as a sacred temple in which I hold the ancient magic of life. I love my body even if it hasn't always been that way. I once thought I was too skinny and wished I had more curves but the most important curve I've sported in my 31 years has been that of my rounded belly carrying healthy babies... and the weight thereafter.
My truth is that the melananted woman is a very powerful energy source when she knows herself. However, her power is not realized as much as it should be in society. She has had to initiate healing after the stressful times in history such as slavery and other trauma. She has had to pass down her strength in her DNA to the fruit of her womb. This is my truth. So although it isn't always easy we should never forget to love on ourselves - flaws and all because we are worthy. Looking over my life I would say to my younger self the same thing I affirm today: Nashava you are a divine aspect of creative energy live your best life as your best version always learning and growing through your experiences.
