The lovely Elizabeth Clarke with her daughters Olesia (4) and Daiya (9 months). Elizabeth generally had healthy pregnancies with both of her girls. She had a bit of excess amniotic fluid with each and her water broke but labor never started requiring pitocin to kickstart each of her vaginal births. She was able to breastfeed Olesia for 9 months before she weaned and is still nursing Daiya. Daiya had a lot of difficult with breastfeeding at first and dropped quite a bit of weight but was able to avoid hospitalization and is nursing like a champ now. Elizabeth lost her husband and Olesia's father to cancer and says the hardest part of the entire struggle was watching him deteriorate and slip away. She was managing her grief and then found out she was pregnant, another challenge of looking forward to the future while grieving for her family and the children she and her husband had hoped to have together.
