The lovely Jennifer Vanderlinden with her identical twin boys John and Logan (2 years). Jennifer and her husband used IVF in order to get pregnant. She had a typical twin pregnancy until she started to have fluid balance and growth issues around 28 weeks. She went into hospital bed rest at 30 weeks and ended up having an emergency cesarean at 34 weeks due to heart rate and blood flow issues. Both boys were born weighing just over 3 lbs. The boys went into the NICU and she knew that Logan would need surgery shortly after birth due to a bowel issue. 30 minutes after they were born it was determined that his lower intestine and bowel were blocked. He needed a feeding tube and spent 5 weeks in the NICU, John came home after 3 weeks. Logan was later diagnosed with Vacterl syndrome, had heart surgery at 11 months and has recently gotten rid of his feeding tube and seems to be on the mend. Jennifer feels like she didn't have a voice before coming a parent, with the boys being sick she became a strong mama bear and now that most of the medical turmoil is behind them, she's rediscovering who she is as a person.
