Emily Richter (33), Susannah "Zanna" (3), James "Jamie" & Laura (Fraternal Twins - 2), Robert "Robbie" (7 weeks)
Emily's most recent pregnancy also began as twins, but miscarried one baby around 9 weeks as she struggled with a severe GI bug.
Emily shares -
"Honestly, I think I care less about my body image than I did previously - I have bigger priorities, and very little time to spare.
I was pleasantly surprised to find out that parenthood was roughly what I expected it to be. That being said, parenthood with twins is an entirely different ballgame - that was a much bigger shock than with my first.
I feel it's important to take the time to pause and think about where you are periodically. This provides an opportunity for an honest snapshot of my "today" and will provide something to look back on as both I and my children grow in the years ahead."
Advice for other parents / your former self? "Find whatever works for you, and run with it. Advice is always well-intentioned, but many times it's offered from a place of specific experience which may not match your own situation (and find a pediatrician who's had children!)"
