The stunning Sharita Rush with her daughters Ava (4) and Zoe (22 months). After researching heavily Sharita knew that when the time came she wanted to have a natural child birth. She ended up changing doctors late into her pregnancy with Ava because she wasn't feeling supported in her wishes and was grateful to find a provider who would follow her lead. Her pregnancy and birth were entirely uncomplicated and she chose to stay with the same doctor for Zoe's pregnancy and birth, both of which, went just as well.
Breastfeeding was a priority for Sharita and both of her daughters latched and nursed without any complications. She went back to work as a nurse when Ava was just 6 months old so she chose to wean. Sharita is staying home with her girls now and enjoying the ability to breastfeed Zoe longer without the demands of an outside job.
Sharita says that she has never had the best self-esteem and the toll that pregnancy took didn't initially help that any. She says she had a lot of extra weight on her small frame, "stretch marks, a poochy tummy, tree trunk thighs, and non-existent boobs. I always joke about never needing a bra and how my body looks like Iām 30 years older than what I am, but in reality it does get to me at times". Sharita has been striving to shift that for herself and her girls, she says, "I believe that my outlook has gotten much better over the years, but I want to show my two girls that we are all beautiful women who can do amazing things with our bodies. I want them to grow up believing that they are beautiful, not just because of what their appearance is, but because of the confidence and light that they can shine for themselves and others."
