The stunning Crissy Stelmaschuk with her sons Tyler (4) and Brady (8 months). Crissy had healthy and easy pregnancies with both of her boys. They tried for about 8 months before conceiving Tyler and were pretty certain they only wanted one child for a long time. It wasn't until Crissy started going through baby clothes for a resale that she realized she very much wanted another. Her husband was on board so they decided to try in the spring but actually conceived about two weeks later. Crissy says that her body doesn't go into labor on it's own. Both of her boys were induced, Tyler at 41.5 weeks and Brady at 42 weeks. With Tyler she hadn't done any research and just did what her doctor had told her to do. They tried Cervidil and Pitocin and an epidural and Crissy didn't feel she was in control of anything and knew she wanted to change for Brady's birth. Despite the induction she was seeing midwives with Brady and had planned for a waterbirth. Unfortunately she stopped progressing and got an epidural which have her time to relax. The epidural stopped working and she was able to get him out while feeling things. She said while it wasn't what she'd expected he's here and it was much better than her first experience. Tyler never latched so Crissy pumped and supplemented for 9.5 months which was hard and painful work but it was she wanted for him. She was determined to nurse Brady no matter what and had a lot of support at the hospital. He latched great right away and they had some issues with a tongue tie but all has been smooth sailing since and they're still going strong.
Crissy says that being a mom is what she was led to do. She had a career and worked full time but never enjoyed any of the work she did. She really enjoys motherhood and says that as stressful and rewardless as it can seem in the moment the rewards are always there. She wants to celebrate her motherhood and feels that even for boys, body positivity is so important to see and hear.
