How has parenthood impacted your body image?
After having my son I felt disappointed in how my body looked afterwards. But after having my twin girls and being left with excess skin, an ab separation, and stretch marks I began to photograph my transformation and in that process grew to really respect my body so much more!
What was your postpartum experience?
I suffered from PPD after having my son and thought i would never have another again. When I got pregnant for the second time I was terrified because I thought for sure I would have depression again but somehow I felt much better. All in all- postpartum isn’t easy EVER and when I began to really stop myself in the moment and soak it in- it made it easier to just BE- rather than trying to live up to a certain standard.
What is one piece of knowledge you'd pass along to your former self, or a new parent?
The mess can wait - just BE.
Why did you choose to participate in this movement and share your story?
I am very passionate about postpartum celebration and have always wanted to participate in a 4th Trimester Bodies Project!
