The wonderful Jessica Durocher with her daughters Ariella (2.5) and Isabelle (16 months). Jessica had high blood pressure with Ariella and was hospitalized for about 10 days before they decided to induce her at 37 weeks. They started with Cytotec and then added Pitocin. She was in labor for 24 hours without pain relief before they realized that Ariella was coming hand first (with her hand on the top of her head) and took her for an emergency cesarean. She breasted for 9 weeks before switching to formula and got pregnant again when Ariella was 3 months old. Her pregnancy with Isabelle was fairly normal, she was on modified bed rest at the end but was still working part time and taking care of her elder daughter. She delivered via repeat cesarean at 37 weeks 5 days because her protein count was too high. She breastfed Isabelle for three weeks but found having a toddler and a newborn to be overwhelming so she switched to formula again. Jessica feels that being a mother is very empowering and wanted to participate to be part of that.
